Depression and Self care

Most of us have been in a place where our mental health impedes us from taking care of ourselves, but many haven’t.

Its a struggle that remains unspoken.
Its a struggle that receives little to no understanding.

if someone struggles to brush their teeth, take a shower, eat or just take care of themselves in general, its almost always equated to laziness by those who haven’t experienced these depths of mental health.

What I wish more people would understand is that there is a huge difference between being lazy, and struggling.
Laziness is when you are ABLE, yet unwilling to perform a task.
Struggling is when you strive to achieve something in the face of great difficulties. The main difference is that people who struggle are still TRYING, its just really hard.

Think about it this way -
You are so depressed and this depression has caused a chemical imbalance in your brain. You receive little to no dopamine or serotonin, leaving you tired, miserable and unhappy. Your brain literally is not functioning to give you what your body needs to be happy and okay.

When someone is depressed, they can be literally unable to see the point in taking care of themselves. People quite literally kill themselves due to struggles with depression, is it so far fetched to understand that someone could struggle to brush their teeth or take a shower?

This is why what we do is so important to us.

Between the advocacy I try my best to do on Tiktok about oral health, and what we strive to do with Zenbarz - We want others to feel better, feel empowered and educated and most of all - find ways to adapt to take care of themselves.

At Zenbarz, each product is designed with a reason in mind, each ingredient used is for a reason.

For example;
Our Depresso Bar is made with soothing ingredients like Hempseed Oil, Cinnamon and Vanilla in hopes to provide a warm, nostalgic aroma to help calm you down. Its also shown that Cinnamon and Vanilla may help improve symptoms of Depression and other issues!

We
try to make sure each bar uses a combination of ingredients to better help our mental health struggles!

Of course, per FDA standards - we cannot promise any of these benefits, but we can provide you with our own evidence and testimonies from happy customers, as well as science backed articles :)
